Shah Alam, 19 June 2025 - Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Razak (PTAR), UiTM Shah Alam was honoured to receive a visit from the 19th Congress of Southeast Asian Librarians (CONSAL XIX) ASEAN delegation today, in conjunction with the official CONSAL XIX 2025 programme hosted by the National Library of Malaysia (PNM).
A total of 69 participants, comprising national and international delegates, senior library officers, and CONSAL XIX volunteers, took part in the visit, which was aimed at enhancing academic and professional engagement among libraries across Southeast Asia.
The visit began with a welcoming address by YBrs. Ts. Haji Azizi bin Haji Jantan, Chief Librarian of UiTM, who expressed his appreciation for PTAR being selected as one of the strategic site visits during this prestigious event the last time Malaysia hosted CONSAL was in 1996.
During the session, delegates were given a comprehensive briefing on PTAR’s core functions in supporting academic excellence, societal development, and national progress, particularly in areas such as digitalisation initiatives, knowledge access services, reading culture enhancement, and community engagement.
The delegates were then brought on a tour of selected highlights within PTAR, including the Jawi Special Collections, User Service Areas, Galleria Tun Abdul Razak (GTAR), and Gesturz Creative Corner, showcasing PTAR’s dynamic transformation as a knowledge hub in the digital age.
